OSI Group – An American Food Giant

OSI Group is a food processing company in the US that sells and also produces protein items and other food products. They offer lunch and breakfast items, snacks, desserts and side dishes and other food products like sausages, bacon, cooked beef, pizza, chicken products and sandwich. The company was listed by Forbes in 2011 as one of the largest private companies in the US with annual revenues above $3 billion but later in 2016 they had grown and made more profits above $6 billion in a year.

OSI group has many of plants in most the US and produces private label food brands and has its facilities in more than 17 countries in the world. The company has received several awards over the years that include safety risk and management of health. Many world food companies rely on OSI to provide them with solutions for their needs as they meet tough expectations thus developing trust.

In 2016 the British Safety Council presented the OSI Company in the UK with an award, the Globe of Honor Award for its exemplary management of risks in the environment. There were other 18 organizations that were awarded in that ceremony for showing excellence in managing the environment. The company has also hired experts who are excellent at ensuring they are top in environmental management.

OSI Food Solutions also recently added Baho Food, at Dutch food manufacturer to its European business. The kind of food products it was offering also complimented with those that OSI offers, and it took over its plants and branches in Germany and Netherlands. OSI has purchase storage and manufacturing facilities that previously belonged to Tyson Foods in Chicago. This enabled the company to be in a good position to meet the needs of growing customer base.

OSI also bought Flagship Food Group Europe that supplies food services in the UK so as to increase their strength and position in the marketplace and open up new business opportunities to serve their customers. Flagship Food Group supplies frozen poultry, Oliver James pies, sauces, dressings and sous vide equipment among others and its acquisition would help cement their presence in the market and extend their boundaries and presence throughout the UK. This would enable the company to offer even better value-added protein foods and other kinds of food products to its clients to meet the needs of customers that evolve every now and then.
