Robert Ivy is the CEO, and Executive VP of the American Institute of Architects commonly abbreviated AIA. He has a Bachelor of Arts English degree from the Sewanee: The University of the South. He also has a Masters of Architecture degree from Tulane University.

Career Background

Ivy became Architectural Record’s Editor in Chief in 1996 and helped grow the publication into the most widely read journal on architecture globally. He later became the Editorial Director and VP of McGraw-Hill Construction Media. The Media conglomerate included several publications like SNAP, Sweets, Constructor, ENR, Architectural Record: China, GreenSource: The Magazine of Sustainable Design, and HQ Magazine.
